Quality Sinus Treatment Options
Relief for Sinus Sufferers
Is Balloon Sinuplasty Right for You?
Most patients should expect to experience less pain than with traditional sinus procedures and return to normal activity (such as work or school) more quickly. Let Dr. Hasslinger determine the best treatment options to alleviate your painful chronic sinus infection symptoms.
Balloon Sinuplasty (or balloon sinus dilation) was introduced in 2005 as a less invasive alternative to traditional sinus surgery. Balloon sinus dilation utilizes a small balloon to dilate and reshape your sinus opening, restoring normal airflow, allowing the sinuses to ventilate more effectively. This procedure is performed by Dr. Hasslinger and his skilled staff of sinus care specialists.
Remarkable Modern Sinus Procedure
Most patients should expect to experience less pain than with traditional sinus procedures and return to normal activity (such as work or school) more quickly. Let Dr. Hasslinger determine the best treatment options to alleviate your painful chronic sinus infection symptoms.
Safe, Effective, Easy Sinus Treatment
Traditional sinus surgery requires invasive cutting and the removal of tissue, along with painful packing and lengthy recovery. The Balloon Sinuplasty procedure eliminates most of these unpleasant aspects of treatment. A tiny catheter is inserted through the nose and into sinuses with a balloon at the tip. Once inside, the balloon is dilated (or inflated), remodeling the sinus opening by up to six times in size, allowing for proper drainage and ventilation. The balloon is then deflated and removed. It really is that simple!
Experience Long-Lasting Sinus Relief
Balloon Sinus Dilation has been clinically-proven to provide long-term relief from painful sinus symptoms by opening blocked sinus passageways for 94% of patients who undergo the procedure. On average, about 6 patients in every 100 will need another procedure. This could mean another balloon sinus dilation or a traditional sinus surgery in the operating room.
REMODEL, a national multi-center study released in 2013, demonstrated that Balloon Sinus Dilation is as effective as conventional sinus surgery at improving chronic sinusitis symptoms with long term relief for sinusitis sufferers, but with less down time, less post-operative pain, shorter recovery time and return to normal activities.
